February BANS Update

Here’s my Build a Niche Store status update for February:
- I just got a check in the mail from Commission Junction for $97 and change.
- My pending balance is $29.42 and climbing. At least this is over the $25 payment threshold, so I’ll be getting another check next month.
- I created another new BANS site around a very hot niche. In the spirit of trying out new things, I decided to install a WordPress blog into a sub-directory on the store site. I added a few initial blog posts, and one of them got Dugg twice within an hour of posting, which I thought was pretty neat.
- I finished manually submitting my new BANS site to over 1,400 directories.
Here are the upcoming BANS projects that I have on my to-do list:
- I’m looking forward to BANS 3.0 being released on March 3rd! My initial plan is to upgrade one or two of my under performing sites first. I’m sure the upgrade will be seamless, but I don’t want to take a chance experimenting on a revenue earning site as my first upgrade.
- I have a really great domain name and niche ready to go, but I’m waiting for BANS 3.0 before developing it, as I want to try using the site-wide search query feature and the ZIP code specific location features.
- I’m going to continue posting to my new niche blog and monitor it’s success.
- I plan to look into possibly promoting my new niche on Facebook. There are some active groups on Facebook for the niche, but I admit I’m a social networking newbie, so I have a lot to learn.
Last but not least…
I’m considering offering a directory submission service to readers of the blog and fellow BANS forum members. I was thinking of charging $49.95 for 500 directories, and $89.95 for 1,000 directories. For an additional $10, I’d handle all of the e-mail confirmations. Let me know if this is something you might be interested in.
