Fellow BANS Member’s Take on the ePN Firings

Yesterday I blogged about how eBay has recently fired many affiliates. Well if you use the Build a Niche Store software and participate in their member forum, you’ve no doubt seen the many posts from members who are angry and trying to figure out what to do next.

Soggy from the BANS forum has recently written a very informative post on his blog titled “Build A Niche Store Has Your Best Interest In Mind.” In the post, Soggy answers the question “what to do now?” with some practical steps.

Some of the steps Soggy listed are:

“I would take a good hard look at your stores and see which ones are viable in adding additional affiliate programs. Take an inventory of all sites and look to find matching product lines offered by other affiliate programs.”

“Stay active on the BANS forums as the dynamic shift is beginning and you do not want to miss a thing.”

I encourage you to read the full post for yourself.

Yes, it’s a good post. I particularly like Point 5:

‘The fifth thing is to keep your head up. This is not the end of the world, but the beginning of something truly great.’

Amongst all the ePN doom and gloom it’s a relief to read something positive.

Just because you got banned from ePN doesn’t mean you can’t still show their listings on your site via BANS or phpBay. Their RSS feeds are public and it still helps your overall SEO efforts and brings in those long-tail searches. Just add a Google Adsense search box to the top of each page and a little text (or graphic) discouraging visitors from clicking the eBay listings and your AdSense income should increase substantally. Now the niche site you made is still bringing in a profit without being dependent on the eBay commissions.

I know several people who did this after being fired from ePN last August and their sites are still making cash! Don’t forget to change your ePN campaign ID to “123456789″ and your custom ID to “screw-you”. ;)
